Accepting & Approving Payments (Agents, Brokers & Landlords)

    Accepting a Payment into a Brokerage Bank Account

    • Step 1: You will receive an email with the property and payment information. From the email, click the Accept Payment link.
    • Step 2: You will be taken to the Payment Management tab in DepositLink, select the payment, and click Accept Selected Payments
    • Step 3: Select the Company, choose the destination Bank Account, and click Accept Payments.
    • Step 4: After clicking Accept Payments, the payment will be queued for processing.

    • Step 6: You should then see a confirmation page with the payment details. If everything looks correct, you can click Accept Payment.

    Accepting a Payment as a Landlord

    *First time accepting as a non-DepositLink customer

    • Step 1: You will receive an email with the property and payment information. From the email, click the Accept Payment link. Click Accept Payment in the browser window.
    • Step 2: Select if you are accepting this payment as a Personal Account or a
      Business Account. Read and agree to DepositLink and Dwolla’s Terms of Service, and click Continue.
    • Step 3: Connect the bank account you’d like to accept the funds into.

    • Step 3: You should then see a confirmation page with the payment details. If everything looks correct, you can click Accept Payment.

    Approving a Payment (New/Unverified Recipients)

    Approving a payment is when an agent double-checks that the payment is going to the right person. Agents can only approve a payment after it has already been accepted.

    For new recipients (such as landlords or others outside a brokerage), the very first payment they receive in DepositLink will need to be approved.

    • Step 1: Go to the Deals tab.
    • Step 2: Find the Deal and click View.
    • Step 3: Locate the payment marked Needs Approval.
    • Step 4: Click Approve Payment
    • Step 5: Review and confirm.
    • Step 6: Click Yes, Approve Payment (or click Block Payment if necessary).
    The payment will update to reflect a Pending status.

    Troubleshooting Payment Issues (Agents/Brokers)

    Sometimes, payments may require additional verification or support. Below are common situations and what to do next.

    • Transactions over $50,000
      Payments above this threshold require additional verification before they can be processed.
    • Sender Restricted
      The account attempting to send funds has been temporarily restricted. This can happen for a variety of reasons related to verification or account activity.
    • Payment Failure
      A payment may not complete due to issues with the connected bank account or transfer attempt.

    DepositLink will work with our payment providers to resolve issues, but some steps may also require action from the payer's bank.

    • If the bank has placed a hold or block, the payer will need to contact them directly to remove it.
    • If the payment delay impacts your transaction timeline, please also work with your payer on any needed extensions.
    This ensures funds flow smoothly and avoids delays in closing.
