Outgoing Payment Authorization Overview
Outgoing Payment Authorization is an optional compliance admin feature configured at the company level that adds an extra layer of security when your organization sends payments from its connected bank accounts.
If enabled for your organization, outgoing payments must be processed by two distinct admin users, establishing a dual-approval review workflow for all outgoing transactions.
Requestor (Key 1) creates and submits outgoing payments for approval; the user has the “send payment” permission.
Authorizer (Key 2) reviews, approves, or rejects outgoing payment requests; the user has the “authorize payment” permission.
By requiring a secondary review before sending funds, this two-step authorization workflow strengthens internal controls for brokerages. Because the entire workflow is managed directly within DepositLink, there is no need to handle approvals via email or external tools.
Requesting Authorization for a Payment
As a Requestor, you can create an outgoing payment as you normally would, from the Deals tab or a specific deal page.
Key Changes:
-
In the outgoing payment workflows, you will set an authorization request expiration date.
-
Upon completing the workflow, you will be informed that the payment requires authorization
-
After submitting the payment, an email notification is sent to all designated admins with the required permission, and the transaction is placed in a Needs Authorization status.
As the requestor, you will be notified when the payment is approved, rejected, or expires.
If the authorization request has expired, the payment will not be sent, and you can resend the request for approval to restart the approval process.
As an Authorizer, you can review outgoing payment requests that require your approval. This can be done from the deal, transaction, or payment management pages.
If you are managing multiple outgoing payments that require authorization, you can review and approve or reject several requests simultaneously from the payment management tab.
If you reject the payment, it will not be sent.

Decision Tracking
All payments on DepositLink include a history of relevant actions and status changes on the transaction page.
If enabled for the feature, you will also have access to the event log, which can help you determine:
-
When the payment was requested and from which admin
-
Whether the payment was approved or rejected and from which admin
This provides greater visibility into the payment approval process and creates a record of the actions taken.
