Federal Banking Holidays
The ACH network observes specific federal holidays throughout the year, during which payments do not settle.
It also only processes payments on standard business days, so if a payment is initiated over a weekend, it will not settle until at least the next business day.
2026 ACH Holidays Include:
- New Year’s Day - January 1
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day - January 19
- President’s Day - February 16
- Memorial Day - May 25
- Juneteenth National Independence Day - June 19
- Independence Day - July 4
- Labor Day - September 7
- Columbus Day - October 12
- Veterans Day - November 11
- Thanksgiving Day - November 26
- Christmas Day - December 25
In addition, the ACH network only settles payments on standard business days. This means that if a payment is initiated on a Saturday or Sunday, it will not be processed until the following business day.
